The Apostles Ceed

Here is the Apostles' Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Universal Church

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.

Instruction for SOAP

**Scripture:**

1. **Choose a passage:** Select a verse, a few verses, or a short passage from the Bible. You can use a reading plan, pick a passage that speaks to you, or focus on a specific theme or topic.

2. **Write it down:** In your journal, write out the chosen Scripture passage. This helps you to engage with the text and focus your attention.

3. **Consider context:** Briefly reflect on the context of the passage. Who wrote it? To whom was it addressed? What's the overall message or theme? Understanding the context can deepen your understanding of the text.

**Observation:**

1. **Reflect and observe:** Carefully read the passage several times. What stands out to you? Are there any keywords, phrases, or repetitions? What are the main ideas or themes? What questions does it raise for you?

2. **Make notes:** Jot down your observations in your journal. Write down any insights, thoughts, or questions that come to mind as you read and reflect on the passage.

**Application:**

1. **Personalize it:** How does this passage apply to your life? Are there any specific actions you need to take, attitudes you need to change, or truths you need to embrace?

2. **Make it practical:** Write down specific ways you can apply the truths of the passage to your daily life. Set goals, make plans, or identify specific areas where you need to grow or change.

**Prayer:**

1. **Respond to God:** Talk to God about what you've read and learned. Thank Him for His Word and the insights He has given you. Confess any sins or shortcomings that the passage has revealed. Ask for His help to apply the truths to your life.

2. **Write out your prayer:** Express your thoughts and feelings to God in your journal. Write out your prayer, pouring out your heart to Him in response to His Word.

**Additional Tips:**

* **Be consistent:** Aim to journal regularly, even if it's just for a few minutes each day. Consistency will help you to develop a deeper relationship with God and His Word.
